The composition is good on both, but the exposure is a little light on both of them.

Same here.
Unfortunatly, my monitor (A LG 26') does not seem to be able to be adjusted to match anybody elses.
I think when money is tight we have to accept that we should invest more in our monitors than we spend in software but in most case we dont. I would love to have a great monitor rather than all the gizmos but human nature being what it is we dont do that.
I always liken it to the car / bed situation.
We spend many thousands of dollars on our cars, which most folks use for a couple of hours a day, many fortunes are spent primping and polishing them and the park them for most of the day. Then we often spend a few dollars on a bed and mattress, often aquired as "Hand me downs" but spend 8 hours a day on a bunch of uncomfortable springs. We sleep , make love and sometimes get our womenfolk pregnant in them, sometimes deliver our children in them, rarely maintain them, and complain we have backaches and did not sleep well last night.
Never made sense to me, but I am sitting here at my keyboard because, guess what, I cant get comfortable in bed!!
