Just updated from a Canon A-1 to a 60D from Best Buy.
Included in the deal was an 18-135 EF-S f/3.5-5.6 & a
70-300 EF f/4-5.6 IS USM. All for $1419 plus tax ($99).
Good deal or not? I know it is going to be a new ball game.
98% of what I ever took was slides (have about 50 years
worth to down load to PC - arghh). Started with a box Brownie Hawkie, then a Kodak Pony 828 and then to the A-1 with enough goodies for a fairly decent amateur. I like to shoot
scenics and play around with macro. Stumbled upon this site and enjoy the information. And the HUMOR?

Yep, I've got slides from way back in 1969-71..old Viet Nam slides from SAIGON.......BUT THEY'VE BECOME DIM AND BLACK AND WHITE OVER THE YEARS...(:>)

I just bought a poInt and shoot (CANON SX40) from Best Buy TO KEEP IN MY WORK VAN. THE 60D will be my next buy. Best Buy, does beat every price I could find in cameras.

Check out Amazon, B&H, and Adorama. In addition to generally having lower prices then BB, they offer free shipping and no sales tax to most states.

You got that right. I have trouble keeping up with this site. End up reading almost everything. Very informative, interesting and entertaining. Looking at the manual for the 60d makes me think I'll have to read it through to the end and start all over again. Soooo many controls! Good luck to you and me.
