Has anyone here dealt with 42nd Street? Honest & reliable?

I bought my Canon 7D from them. It came on time and
I was never hassled to buy other stuff from them. Will
use them again if needed. mdh
I was hassled a lot when I first placed the order - one of those pushy salesman/hard sell phone calls wanting me to upgrade battery and SC card mainly. And they were rude in two subsequent phone calls I made about shipping date.
Canon T3i arrived just fine, but I learned that buying bundled (tripod and other goodies) just means you are getting highly inferior accessories not even close to their stated "value" :)
Thanks to all for the information; I think I'll pass on 42nd Street and save a potential headache.
Major seller of "grey market" products. A good one to avoid in my opinion.
I've dealt with them, and as long as you know exactly what you are ordering, I think they are fine.
For better personal service, I prefer Adorama and B&H Photo.
And on specific stuff, even Abe's of Maine is sometimes the better price. I bought my Nikon 300mm f4.0 AIs ED-IF from them may years ago.

They have a reputation as scammers. They are playing on the 47th Street Photo name. That store is gone but was quite reputable in its day. I have heard mostly negatives about 42st.
From what I have heard, I would go to a 42 st Hooker before 42 st Photo

B&H - very professional, helpful and knowledgeable.
I've never purchased from 42nd St but have purchased a number of cameras, lenses and accessories from Adorama.com for many years and never had a problem. The following link might help you decide if you haven't already read it. Most are 4 - 5 star rated happy customers but several are 3 stars or less. "Buyer beware" and good luck:)

42nd Street Photo has been around for decades and has always had a "dicey" reputation. B&H, Adorama, Cameta has always been great to deal with and don't play some of the standard tricks on "lower price" gear.
By way of example: The manufacturer supplies a battery and a charger. Some of the shady vendors pull this from the package and then sell you the battery separately and the charger separately. Suddenly your savings is going away. Why bother when there are too many GREAT vendors, see above, out there.
