Here is a GREAT learning tool.
Pepper
Loc: Planet Earth Country USA
Ive purchased all kinds of books, videos, downloaded guides and tutorials and on and on. I have learned a great deal from them so I wouldnt say they were a waste but
.The best tool Ive found to date is this forum. Ill run across something someone says and Ill go try it, sometime it works and sometimes not so much. Often times I find the information gives me a great place to start. Im learning far more from the generosity of the folks on this site than from any other source. Nothing beats just shooting and shooting and shooting some more. Ive put together a spread sheet that I record just basic information which helps me compare shots. Im still not real good at figuring out the histograms in the camera but Ill get there. So thanks so much to all you folks and your willingness to share, you are indeed a great group.

Once you get proficient at reading the histogram, it makes life a lot easier ! That's what I use to preview the shot I just took ! I'm a little different I guess, I can't judge the quality of my shots looking at the tiny image on the LCD....the histogram works for me ! Others with better eyes have good luck with the preview image !
Amen, Pepper. Amen!!
I have to add a +1 to that. Since stumbling on to this site a few weeks ago (don't even know how I found it) I read it everyday and learn something new everyday. I think this is a great site and y'all are wonderfully helpful.
Thanks
Mike
So true. I just wish I could spend more time here.
I agree with you. I just found this site myself and read every morning!

Mark Wallace on Adorma Learning has a great spreadsheet as well.
This is as good as hanging out at the general store. It's nice to have so many friends be so willing to help.
