I love to shoot nature photos.... from elk to to tiny red mites on weeds. Plus all types of plants from orchids to weeds. My favorite type of photography is macro.
I started my love of digital photography in 2005 on my first trip to the Smoky Mountains. I had a new Pentax K100D. I have been shooting ever since. I shot film for a couple years in 1970s, but stopped when I could not afford the processing any more. But, I am back.
I live in northeast Georgia not far from Athens. I look forward to learning more with you fellow addicts.

Welcome to another Georgian. Cades Cove is great, isn't it? I was there a couple of months back and got some shots of the elk @ the new Oconaluftee visitors center on the NC side of the park. When I find them again (!) maybe I can post them here.

Welcome Naturefan! I think you'll love this site. A lot of great photographers here that are just like you and me. They have great advice if you need a question asked in photography. Below is a pic of a squirrel I snuck up on. Took me about a half an hour to get this shot.
