Adobe support - NOT!

This morning, I tried to open Lightroom, only to be greeted by a welcome screen, and an invitation to enter my serial number. I have been using it for nearly a month!
I went to the wonderful world of adobe chat forum, and spent 30 minutes being told that they were all busy. Then I get a response and the guy takes 10 minutes to check out my account and decide that this was a technical issue. Never! He transferrs me, and I get to wait while the tech guy checks out my account. He has me cut&paste a copy of my hosts file (in which every line is commented out...), then tells me that it looks ok, and I should call them back if it happens again. That was almost an hour of my life I will not get back again...
I have a couple of other LR issues I need to talk to them about, but I didn't have time right then. He tells me that there is no email address for support - you have to either go through the chat maze or put questions in the forum. I put a question in the forum last week, and now I can't even find my question, much less any replies it may have had!
Does anyone know if they have some other method of accessing tech support??? The company is happy to take my money, a support email address is not a huge amount to ask for!
Just as an aside, does anyone else experience a crash every time they select <slideshow>?

I use LR4 with only one problems. One time my catalog was corrupted, but my backup copy corrected it.
I have used the slideshow, print, and of course develop and the library. I do keep a list of all serial numbers of all programs installed. I just ordered LR5.
