ISS flyby

This is my first attempt at stacking multiple shots together, using StarstaX. It isn't great, but it does show the picture.
This was the ISS flying over Waynesboro PA on Thursday evening.

The bright 'star' to the lower left is the planet Venus, and the streaks are a series of 5-second exposures of the ISS climbing up the sky. You may need to download to see the streaks clearly. The station was much dimmer than it has appeared on other times I have seen it pass; I guess it all depends on the angle it makes with the Sun.

Comments welcome - but be gentle! I am new at this...

Yup, it's there! Keep playing with it. I've been able to shoot a really long exposure and have it as one long streak across the sky. It's a great subject to practice on and play with...have fun!
Are you on the ISS email list where they notify you as to time and direction of flyover?

Yes, I am on the list. It's been over here a few times in the past few weeks, but that was the first time that we were not clouded in. I was disappointed at how faint it was this time... I have seen it quite a few times, and it has been probably as bright as Jupiter. I suppose it is just the angle of the solar panels with the sunlight.

My camera will only go up to a 15 second exposure, which limits the length of streak. I do want to experiment on getting astro pictures, though. I figure, take a whole bunch of maybe 5 to 10 second shots and stack them. There shouldn't be too much noticable streaking with that short an exposure. Certainly, the star to the right of the ISS was still sharp (although faint) with these 5 second shots. I must have jarred the tripod at some point in the sequence, because Venus shows a noticable double-image.
It *was* very cold though, and that is my excuse!

I love the sky clarity of a winter's night, but why can't we have that with the warmth of a nice Fall evening? I also have to try and find a darker site, away from the streetlight sky-glow...
