Alafia River State Park

Well we went to another park this weekend. This park is in Southern Hillsborough County. They have several different bicycle trails of varying difficulty. Twenty miles of horse trails and 6,000 acres. Due to some wrong turns and hard-headedness, a short, one hour trip turned into a 5 1/2 hour trudge through the vastness of the terrain. My wife will forgive me...eventually.

Nice shots, Larry. I usually find that taking my wife for a shopping trip helps get me get out of the dog house. Good luck.

Had a great time...if you don't mind dehydration, sore feet and two worn out hips. But the park was beautiful. Thank you

I think I see all smiles though, and that's good! Bikes and Horses - what fun, and I think I see the lady on a Trek in the first pic - I find I'm doing many of my pics while riding my Trek 550D in the woods and around the lake - I'll have to show these to my wife, and maybe I'll be able to get her out more! Thanks for sharing these.

Some nice shots. That park can be a tricky place. Those old strip mines all look alike.

I was amazed at the number and quality of the bicycle trails. Most of the upkeep and new trails are built and maintained by a mountain bike club. We stayed on the "Easy" trails but others were marked "Hard" or "Expert".
Hope your wife joins you more often.

I thought we were in another world - Florida is supposed to be flat! I lived in the mountains of Va and WVa and the terrain was much like that but the hills were only forty feet high or so.

We actually were away from that area and in wooded areas were we got side tracked.

Thanks for lookin'
