I've just ordered 4 copies of my photo-book titled, "A Book of Smiles" from the Blurb company. With 50 pages of pictures and captions in a hard bound image wrap cover my cost appears to be around $50+ per copy, with a run of 20+ copies.
(I ordered the 4 copies at a special 30% discount) and waiting to see the quality before ordering more.
I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for other publishers to research before committing myself to a larger order? I've had a brief look at some listed online but most so far appear to be novels, etc as opposed to picture books. As I've mentioned before, this is basically a charitable project at present though I wouldn't mind seeing some sales of my work as the result, if only to help expand my donations to more institutions around the country.
I met a guy doing a photo history book documenting an old Army fort in Washington state. He used Blurb to publish it.
