WATER
Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink
Familiar?
Have heard this phrase since my childhood and it potentially could become like that in the far future, a future that we will not know.
As a child who was raised on the water, a descendant of generations of watermen I was taught not to be afraid of water, but to respect it. Water can be hypocritical, it can be mean, pleasant, pretty and even an indication of what will come about, as through the eyes of those who work on or live near it.
I will try and show the different faces and moods of water and even show a bit of wet humour, because Nature has the entire spectrum of the way she demonstrates her moods.
To begin with these photos show water, naturally, but they also show the use of water. Long ago on sailing ships these were aboard every ship and they helped predict upcoming weather. For reasons beyond my comprehension, the barometric pressure was shown by the distance the water rose or lowered in the stem. The higher the pressure, the lower the water and vice-versa the lower the pressure, the higher the water. The faster the water rises the more severe the incoming low pressure wil be, as in a thunder storm. I will not bore you with details so here they are.
