Has anyone dealt with buyherephoto.com before? They are advertising the Nikon D800E for $1809. Too good to be true?

If it looks too good to be true, it is. Just go on to Google and type 'buyherenow.com reviews'. Try not to go to their site for the write-ups.

Thanks, yep they're rotten scammers and not one good testimony to boot. Companies like these scamming mongrels should be closed down for fraud.

As you're in New Zealand, you might try Amazon or TigerDirect. You're not concerned with the NIKONUSA warranty, so your warranty work will be done through NIKON facility either in New Zealand or somewhere in Australia. The warranty outside the USA is pretty much the same, but the USA facility won't accept cameras made for sale outside the USA for warranty work. Serial number indicate where the camera was sold.

Glad you didn't try to go for the "Scam deal" through some fly-by-night outfit. Nikon posts all of it's products prices as suggested retail and if a dealer wants to keep their franchise, they can only discount Nikon when the company allows it or through some factory authorized sale or discount. Many dealers will throw in added extras to compensate for price but the camera and lenses are written up so the price is acceptable to Nikon
