Has anybody had this happen to you with picasa?

I started up Picasa and the whole screen is greyed out with all of the pictures refusing to boot up.
What gives, frankly I'm mystified.
Any help is better than where I am now.
Thanks ahead of time for looking.

Problem I've had with Picasa, is when uploading one picture from a card/disc for editing etc. ..Picasa wants to upload the other 50 or so images, which interupts the single picture task. I hear there is a way of stopping this, but it is like a runaway train.

Learning how to set the preferences for what Picasa scans will help.
> Tools > Folder Manager
> Tools > Options may help you too
And there is a really good Help Menu

Highlight all the photos you don't want uploaded. Left click on one of them for a dropped menu and select 'exclude file' and then click on 'import all' as you usually do. Hope this helps.

If this could be an 'importing' problem then at the bottom of the page on the left hand side there are 2 boxes that read :- 'import to' and 'folder title'. I believe that if these are not filled in with some information then the page is 'greyed out'. I hope this solves your problem. Otherwise are one of the boxes along the top of the page set to show only a certain type of photo. On reading your question again I am not sure if I am being very helpful.

Put your memory card in the appropriate slot in your computer or in a card reader plugged into a USB port and then open Picasa and go to import>removable disk(drive)>open appropriate folder and choose single photo you wish to import into Picasa.
