help with ISON

I took this shot about 10 days ago, it consist of 18 stacked (in Nebulosity ) 15 to 30 sec frames. Try as I might I can't seem to get the colors closer to correct, the background is too blue and the comet is too green. I am a novice at editing and would really appreciate some help on this.. feel free to do anything at all to the file, I look forward to learning something once again from my fellow Hoggers , thank you

Thanks lonerangerfinder! it IS closer on the comet, Im wanting to bring the background closer to black without obliterating the comet tail

yeah , I tried many times with no success at all, lost alot of sleep, had one oppertunity with no clouds or wind.

Is this closer? I used Picasa all the way. Warmed the color, then applied a graduated tint. :?: :?:

On the news today looks like ison is no longer, appears it didn't survive its trip around the sun. Good that you already got pictures

I'll try. I should have recorded my steps-- it was late last night... well actually, early this morning....
I loaded the image into Aperture and just played with it. As I recall, I converted to monochrome to remove the blue and then applied the color monochrome brush. I'm not sure what it's called in LR or Elements-- as I don't have/never used those programs. That's the most I can recall. I'll try to replicate this again and take better step=by-step notes. Sorry, I can't give better details. Too much giving Thanks....

used the desaturate tool in PS CC. Cloning tool a little around tail , And a little use of the burn and Dodge tool . After using the desaturate tool , I used the paint tool to make the black back ground like you see when you look at the sky . It may be what your looking for , or it may not be . Tommy
