In the BACKBAY in Newport CA. they have an Osprey nesting platform and the the pix from the spring show the family and the fledgings trying out their wings.

Very neat shots! What a showstopper is that last one!
The nest looks relatively small compared to the ones in central Washington State that overrun the sides of the platforms and are built up quite a bit higher than what I see of yours. I wonder if was lack of building materials?

Great shots - I shoot ospreys multiple times a week but I have neither seen nor observed one like the last one in the diving attitude!
