it's probably a microscopic piece of dust on your lens, just make sure your lens is really clean in the future. use a simple eyeglass cleaning cloth, other than that it's a great photo. sarge, stop throwing stones!

I would bet it was in the photo, you just did not see it in the eyepiece, remember that is a very small area. Hell I find things in photos all the time I did not see in the viewfinder.

I enlarged it, not enough detail except that it's egg shaped. The guy at color lab tried too with no luck. He did say it was moving extremely fast and explained in technical language why he thought this.

I took your image and put it in my editor. I enlarged it to the max (500%) and cut the UFO out and placed next to the trees to compare pixel size. The pixel size is exactly the same.
