Really cool old barn

Drove by this site today and remembered this old barn that was there in the 80's. Barn is totally gone now, salvaged for the wood, but at least I had these old 35mm prints of it. Too bad the place was let go for so long, you just don't see buildings like this anymore, especially with the full round roof.

The tight shoot of the slumping roof is really nice. Glad you saved the shots, too bad the beautiful old barn was not saved. Another victum of pole barns and tilt-ups.

Thank you Ian. Shot this with my old Nikon F2 and a Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f2.8 zoom. People used to say those Vivitars were garbage but I took some very nice shots with mine back in the day.

great shots MT,,,makes you wonder about all the sweat put into building it,,the work that went on it in over the years,,,,I wish that when I was growing up I had taken photos of my old homeplace,,I moved off for 35 yrs,,now am back,,but it has changed so much,,I tell me kids, grandkids of how the roads were all dirt back then,,the barns, buildings , trees that used to be here, etc,,memories lost forever except in my mind,,

just spent the day at work shingling a 100' by 60' garage we are building. We have snorkel lifts, fork lifts, and compressed air nail guns. Cant imagine shake shingling that barn in those days. Nice shots Mt. Tim

Nice shots. I love old barns. I used to live on a place with a big old barn, complete with barn owls. Yeah, we should be photographing them while they're still standing.

Not from that barn, long gone. But I do have some old barnwood planks in the garage, might have to make a frame up and see what it would look like! Thanks for the idea.
