Whenever I am extremely homesick for Long Island because my family is there, I take a drive to the Natural Dam and there's something about the sound of the rushing water and serenity of a calm reflective lake. I hope that you enjoy the journey.

No.1 is a keeper for me. The others seem a bit blurred. I can see why you like that spot. Lucky you.

Thank you. When I went to the dam I didn't have my tripod to set up, so to get the silk effect of the water I slowed down my shutter speed to it's slowest setting and hand holding the camera, the slightest little movement give the blur. I'm going back with my tripod in a few days so that I won't have the blur problem. Thank you for your critique, I really appreciate it, it helps to shoot better.

I was so excited that the colors were as beautiful as they were. I was worried at first that the autumnal colors already peaked. Climbing on slippery rocks and then seeing the tree and leaves gave me a great framing shot.

It's such a great place for meditation. I'm trying to visit as many waterfalls that I can before the weather gets too cold. I went to Artist Pointe and the water wasn't running because of the dry spell we've had. Hopefully in about a month, the 3 falls should be gorgeous.

What a beautiful area, great for photo ops and your images are spectacular. I wouldn't mind relaxing there myself.

Thank you, I found that the nature of AR is beyond words. Long Island doesn't have the beauty of this state. I just hope my family moves here to appreciate the beauty and experience.

I see that you are also from AR, what part do you live in? So far all my hikes and excursions have been in NW section. I'm trying to see what else is around. Maybe you have some suggestions.

That's my boyhood swimmin' hole. Ft. Smith is my home. Your first shot is wonderful, a beautiful view as you approach the dam. You got several very nice shots there. Take your tripod and go back. Sorry you're so homesick but if you have to be homesick, that's a good place to do it. My wife, from Van Buren, has done a painting of the place from about the same angle as your first shot but with a little broader view. Wanna see a pic of her painting?

The photos are lovely. I also find peace at the lake. I like the last one but all are great.
