Wow, and all B/Ws too. Considering her employer, I hope her work makes it into a photo-log book in her honor.

Sad, and yet, not sad: perhaps the joy and personal reward she took from her life's work was enough? I think it was.

What an incredible story. And they still have all the undeveloped film rolls to go through. I hope there are still some "darkroom masters" around.

John.

Pull them out. You may be sitting on a goldmine. At the very least they will be a historical record. Too easily lost these days.

I think it was too. This is a powerful story and a reminder to all of us to consider why we do what we do. I think "joy and personal reward" is the ultimate fuel of artistic pursuit. Nothing less could have kept her at it... at such a high level for so many years. This story touches my heart.

i forget her name, but the man who bought her storage locker full of film, photos etc has a website for her work, is doing a screenplay about her, has put on a exibitionof her work sponsored by the city of Chicago. The sad part is he finally tracked her down a few days after she had died. pop photo had an article on her a few months back. Her candid street photography is right up there with HCB.
