I took this team pic as a favor - I like the way it turned out - but I have tried to print it in an 8 X 10 to hang in the lobby of the ice rink but CVS is asking me to crop - HELP - I can't crop anyone out of the picture - LOL
Thank you all!!
Milford Prep Hockey 2013-2014
Try Walgreen's if one is available. When I submit a 4x6 I only lose a little on each side of the 8x10.

Thank you all!!
I just printed it in 8x10 on my everyday HP just to see if it would print OK & it didn't cut anyone off. I suggest going somewhere else to get it printed.
I had the same problem we with my canon printer but then chose the81\2 by11 configuration, and it came out fine.
The borders may need to be cut but it looks fine.I hope this helps its a nice picture.
8x10 requires a 4:5 ratio image, yours is much wider than that and cannot be printed as such without either cropping off the ends or stretching the images height and that would distort the players. Standard sized prints are always an expression of ratio and those ratios seldom are the same as your camera sensor ratio. A bulk consumer print lab like the one you want to use does not have the capability to print a custom ratios, you need to use a custom printer, and even they will not be able to get this image on an 8x10 size without cropping. The image should print just fine at 8x12 and you can get mats and frames in that size. You may even want to print it at a standard digital size of 13x19.
Why not add a white border in processing to achieve the correct ratio?
Here you go. It will print as 8x10 with wider white borders at top and bottom.
You could pop this into an editor and insert text onto bottom border area - such as the team name and date, or I'll be glad to do it if you tell me what you want. I just use Picasa and I did this as "collage" so the file size is somewhat smaller than your original.
Also please note that your original is just a tiny bit wider than 8x12. #2 below is that ratio and you can find 8x12 frames here and there :)

Here is an edit I did with Photoshop CC. I carried the beam at the top to the top of the crop. I also carried the ice to the bottom of the crop. No crop was done to the original image, only the boundaries were extended to make a wider photo. It's like I airbrushed it. Hope this helps.:)
Even carried the reflections in the ice forward by hand.
(It helps to be an artist.)

Wendy and Linda have the right idea. If you have to have this as an 8 X 10 (rink rules?) you're going to have some white space.
My take on this, use the white space. I also cropped out the lights and beam at the top.
