Welcome to the Alphabet Challenge - the letter 'R.' I look forward to seeing your 'R' photos. Annacady, you did an awesome job hosting 'Q!' Thank you ~
Tonight, I am so sad to lose my UHH and Facebook friend, Annette Engel-Sather a.k.a aleone63. She will be so missed in our daily challenges and on this forum. I am a better person for having known her. Annette and I became aware of each other when we found out that we were both breast cancer survivors on one of our challenge threads almost two years ago. She started her first battle with cancer about 17 years ago and successfully defeated it. After that first encounter with cancer, she obviously lived with a zeal and passion for life that was evident in her photographs and conversation.
I will remember her every time I see a bench anywhere. I was constantly looking for unique benches to show her. I know many of you feel the same way.
We talked last Thursday night, 10/24/13. I called her not expecting to actually speak to her as her sister told me earlier that she was too weak to talk. She answered the phone and I was thrilled to speak with her. She told me to be sure and let you all know how much each and everyone of you have meant to her - especially during the last months of her illness. I know she expressed the same thing to others as well. She wanted to make sure that you all knew how much she loved and appreciated you!
So, in honor of Annette, we shall continue on with the challenge . . .

p1 Great start, Gracie with special words and a beautiful rose. There are many cancer survivors on UHH (and in our communities) - I am one of them too. And I'm always aware that at any time it could rear it's ugly head once more. That is why I try to pack as much as I can into life- you never know which day will be the last.
We have had some beautiful red leaves this year.
Nice start MG. You written words are as lovely as your Roses.

I know, Pat ~ it is really amazing how many people on UHH have been affected by cancer!
Your red leaves are wonderful! I walked out to a little tree in the neighbor's yard to photograph some red leaves and they were all filled with holes and moldy looking. Our wet summer really took its toll on our Fall beauty!

Judy, terrific photos by iPhone. A friend of mine posted a gorgeous landscape the other day from her new iPhone. I was astounded at the quality. We have something in Atlanta on Interstate 285 called 'Spaghetti Junction.' It is quite a sight.
