Helen I had the 100-400mm and was using it on 5d mk2.I may have had a poor lens,as I could not get spot on focus with it,no matter how hard I tried. When I bought the mk3 there was still no improvement! .It appears to work for you so, happy..happy shooting, Chris.
I also had a x2 extender & as you can see,I managed real gotcha shots.I have no idea why you couldn't focus properly.I hope you find out why.Cheers,Helen.

Thank you for letting us meet Oscar and Lucinda, Helen! Good shots! I had a BIG "pet" goose who used to walk with me in the park. Unfortunately he's passed away. I called him Blue Eyes 'cause he was the only goose I'd ever seen with blue eyes!
