I have a Tamron lens that will not "turn on" when I put it on my Nikon Cameras. For awhile I could jiggle it a bit and it would connect. It would then work until changed lenses and put it on again. I am not sure how to clean the contacts. Suggestion please. It may be that it is not telling the camera it is set on the lowest (f/22) f stop. Is there some way I can adjust this. I know there is a fellow Hog that repairs cameras and lenses. If you know his name let me know. Thanks - Dave
A drop of Isopropyl alcohol on a Q-Tip is all that is needed to gently wipe both the lens contacts and the camera contacts.
Which Nikon camera and what exact tamron lens. Those are 2 very very important bits you have left out. Wont turn on means?

I had the same issue with both of my Tamron 18-270mm lenses, one for Nikon and one for Canon. Luckily both are still under Tamrons 6 year warranty. Each was gone for just over a month getting repaired but neither has had a recurrence of the issue.
