Quote:
SEAN HANNITY: Something happened between the time we made that call to you, and now, what happened?

ERLING DAVIS: They fired me from my job.

HANNITY: Because of the phone call, the information that you gave us?

DAVIS: Yes sir.

On the bright side. He is giving her a year's salary and trying to help her find another job.

No, just the ones under duress via government force.

The right believes in taking responsibility for our actions which Hannity did after playing a part in the events leading up to her getting fired.

I just attended a fund raiser for our local foodbank. My wife and I couldn't help but notice that the vast majority of the people giving money, were people that we have seen at Republican functions. We live in a county that is overwhelmingly Democrat. I guess they were busy.

I would have fired her, too, for talking to the likes of Hannity. Fair and balanced?? Not!

But would you have fired her for talking to MSNBC?

It depends on what she said. She probably should not have been talking to anybody.

My point is, was she the spokesperson assigned to speak with any of the news programs.
Also, did you hear about the 3 bogus couples on Hannity who were crying about Obamacare. Turns out that one of the couples who had a business wasn't even affected by it since they only had 3 employees. Another couple said how expensive it was and here they had changed their deductible from several thousand dollars to $250 so no wonder the premium was higher. And, this was all brought out by a man who worked for Romney and is, as I understand it, still a staunch Republican. You know Hannity would never have brought it up himself.

Which raises another point, is someone working a $26,000 a year job forbidden from talking to the media because she is not an "assigned spokesperson?" Was she in a high security position or did she have some sort of contract taking away that right?

One would think the Obama Administration would welcome the transparency. Yeah....right.

It is a legitimate point that she was not hired as a public spokesperson. But your response was that you would fire her for talking to Fox but not necessarily MSNBC if she toed the line to administration talking points.

It is disappointing to find that one of the 3 couples situation was not what was represented. You would think they would have learned from the experience of Maria Ciano, a long time Democrat, who appeared in a Democrat ad posing as a disillusioned Republican.

Seriously, who vetted a businessman to talk about the 50 employee threshold when he only had 4 employees?

Beyond that, it gets subjective. "Lie" seems too strong a word unless you have an agenda invested in calling it that. Before we get to other details, Eric Stern's fact check in Salon.com does nothing to disprove that Obama lied when he said "If you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan". Eric does not challenge that. And it is consistent with what several of my friends have reported. "But, but, but have they checked their options on the exchange?" does not disprove that Obama lied or that their insurance plans were discontinued and more expensive plans offered. That can be misleading by omission but if that is the standard you want to use, then every news outlet is guilty of mass dishonesty on a grand scale.

So Eric found a Bronze plan for the Franklin, TN couple for under $4000. How do we know how it compares to the couple's prior plan? What is the deductible for the Bronze plan? Some are as high as $6000 each. Again, what was it for their existing plan that is no longer available?

In the case of Natalie Willes, as shown on the CBS Evening News, she is paying more for less insurance.

Quote:

WILLES: I was completely happy with the insurance I had before.

EVANS: So she was surprised when she tried to renew her policy.

EVANS (on-camera): What did you find out?

WILLES: That my insurance was going to be completely different, and they were going to be replaced with 10 new plans that were going to fall under – you know, the regulations of the Affordable Care Act.

EVANS (voice-over): Her insurer, Kaiser Permanente, is terminating policies for 160,000 people in California, and presenting them with new plans that comply with the health care law.

WILLES: Before I had a plan that – I had a $1,500 deductible. I paid $199 a month. The most similar plan that I would have available to me would be $278 a month. My deductible would be $6,500. And all of my care after that point would only be covered 70 percent.
br WILLES: I was completely happy with the insura... (show quote)

One question I have is why these insurance companies, and Blue Cross is mentioned most often, are offering Obamacare replacement plans at two or three times the previous cost when exchange costs are less?

Another question is why the Obama administration was so scared to show the price of the plans that they required registration so that they could show the subsidized price to make it look better?

Back to Eric Stern's standard for LIES. The healthcare.gov site is guilty of lies. See this CBS news report
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505269_162-57608843/healthcare.gov-pricing-feature-can-be-off-the-mark/

I'm not even sure that Eric's Salon article meets his own standard to not be "LIES". He obviously has his own agenda and there isn't enough information in his article to determine whether it is any less misleading than the Hannity segment outside the stupidly dishonest misrepresentation by the small business owners.
