In your opinion, who does this the best?
I use Whitewall here in England
Google them. There work is A1
FredB
Loc: A little below the Mason-Dixon line.
I've used Bay Photo. Very pleased.
barbaradear, thank you for this topic.. unique substrate.
On, but off topic, is the printing on Titanium. The color is determined by voltage at the tip of the brush. The colors are not real just as the color on a butterfly are not real, but are the result of particle size also multi reflections. Printing on Al is in a way simular because of the substrate reflections.
" but it is most pronounced in the butterfly family. It happens when light passes through a transparent, multilayered surface and is reflected more than once. The multiple reflections compound one another and intensify colors."
http://animal.discovery.com/insects/butterfly-colors.htmThe effect is beautiful and the only one i have seen was a sample a friend had given to him as a Christmas perk by the titanium manufacturer.
Printing over metal is indeed unique. There is another technique BW line printing on aluminum and then etching with vinegar. The etching occurs on the blank areas.
I have used adorama for normal size and love them. Bayphoto for big stuff and they do great work also.
Bay Photo Metal best print I have ever seen. You can believe their ads. Dye Sublimation on aluminum. It pays to do their "Sampler" to decide on finish. Lots of neat mounts well worth cost.
Thank you Creativ for your reply....will check them out.
Thanks for the reply CHG - will check them out.
