Nice work as usual. I always smile when I see your avatar, because of the great photography you post and because as a lifelong resident of the "wet side", I'm familiar with most all of your subjects, especially "your canyon". Today was especially nostalgic because no summer was complete without a motorcycle ride over Chinook during the short window when it's possible. I have lots of shots taken from the area but yours would be the one on my wall.

Calsnap, thank you so very much for your kind and generous comments. I'm humbled and very touched!

Excellent shots. That SX50 is very impressive. I have the T3i but I am thinking about buying the SX50 for a walk around camera.

Thanks so much bcheary. I'm trying to figure out a cheap and easy way to carry both :)

Nice shots. Really liked #2.

Thanks so much. A much-photographed view, that one, but still awesome to experience in person.

Thank you so much. I chatted with a couple of folks from Seattle while I was there. They were so glad to be out of the fog! Great that you could enjoy the weather and the beauty.

This is a lovely reminder of a trip we took when our son was stationed in the Navy at Bremmerton.

I really like the second shot even with the lens flare. It's such a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing these beauties.

Thanks so much Vicki. It's quite the rush when you come around the corner at the summit (after getting no glimpses for 60 miles traveling from Yakima on Rte 410) and thar she blows :) Though maybe that's a poor choice of words re a volcano in a highly populated area!

Thanks! A 14,000' volcano does make for great photo ops :) I have only been there when it's completely blue sky or socked in with no view whatsoever - and always between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Guess the next challenge is getting up there for sunrise.
