Recipe for carp. Gut and fillet the fish then lay it on a board, place another board on top and tie it into a "board sandwich". Lower the fish into a pot of boiling water, add a little seasoning and boil for thirty minutes. Then, remove the fish, untie the string, throw the fish in the bin and eat the boards.

That's funny! My father was an avid fisherman so he and my brother and I would go down to the river and catch carp for fun. We used homemade cornmeal doughball bait and would always catch quite a few. My brother actually caught a 35 pounder and had his picture in the local newspaper which made us very proud. The river at that time was full of sewage so we would bring the carp home and 'plant' them in the garden for fertilizer. My mother was the envy of the neighborhood for her prize winning flower garden. We always told the same joke when someone asked about preparation only we used tomato sauce and sliced onions. You brought back some wonderful memories. Thank you.
