Cuba travel partner needed

There is a tour company (YMT) that has a "people-to-people educational exchange program" that consists of 8 days in Cuba. I'd like to go but I need a travel partner, they don't take solo travelers. You can surf up YMT Vacations to learn about the trip and itinerary and dates. Anybody care to partner up with me?

Hope you find someone as Cuba is a great place.

You might also check the SantaFe photo school as they do photo tours there as well as Steve Ancell. I know you can go as a single room with Steve.

Here's a link. I'd probably choose mid February or March. That will give me time to recover from my Christmas ski trip to Park City.

Can someone enlighten me? Since when has the no travel to Cuba been lifted for U.S. citizens ?

Okay thanks, had me confused as we in Canada go there and very seldom encounter Americans. Also I do believe that a Canadian carrier going to and fro Cuba are not allowed to cross American Aie Space.

The state dept issues an allowance under a cultural exchange program. The visit is highly restricted and you must keep a written journal of all daily activities for a five year period during which the state dept. can examine it at will.

Does that include a journal detailing all the Cuban ladies who want to discuss "the arts" with me. ;) Seriously, I thought we could come and go there at free will by now. Good stuff to know. Thanks.

We didn't have to keep a journal, but that was a few years ago and times and "guide lines' change.

There where lots of folks from Canada and Australia there when i went and a whole bus from UCLA running around town with huge banners indicating there home location.

Can't say when the "journal" rule came to be, but I kind of like it. I have a terrible memory and this may actually help me put captions with my photos. Who knows, maybe I'll actually learn a new discipline.
