What? Full length movies are being shot with DSLR's. As are tv shows and commercials. Strange. Wonder why manufactures would put video capability in a DSLR if they are not for taking video?

Does Elements 10 premier deal with AVCHD. I have a new Sony HX9V that takes superb video in 1080P but in AVCHD format. Windows movie maker will deal with it but then burning to DVD with Win DVD doesn't work very well.
Yes, Premiere elements handles AVCHD just fine. In fact, I think they all probably due at this time.
And let me add without getting into the why's, down-converting HD to SD often yields marginal results. Here is an excellent how to video but as you will soon see, it's not just a click this or set that kind of deal. It's very involved.
