My Nikon D7100 shutter seems unusually quiet when I release it.
The pic quality seems fine it just seems quieter than I was used to. Can anyone out there comment on this. Thanks and happy fall picture taking.

Have you checked your hearing aid batteries lately?

Not very funny, especially for those who wear hearing aids.

How long have you had it? The D7100 is noticeable quieter than the D7000 was, or almost any Nikon DX body for that matter.

I think I'd be more concerned if I noticed my shutter was getting louder and louder!

I check my batteries routinely. And every hearing aid wearer has a funny story or two with the punchline of "Sorry, battery must be dead".
Especially if it involves a spouse.

I wear two hearing aids and it is amazing how many times both batteries go down at the same time - usually when I'm on the Hog.

Are you sure you don't have it set on "quiet" mode? (Mode dial set on Q)??

Ah, you guys just don't want to listen to us gals. My husband also wears two hearing aids, but often doesn't hear a thing when I start to tell him something I've just read....

To one of my favorite people on the hog: My mother always said that my father was "Hard of Listening."

Paulo, I recently upgraded to the D7100 from a D7000 and the shutter does seem quiet compared to the D7000. Not a problem to me, just better.
