Taken at an evening display during the Bournemouth Air Festival in August, it's not a technically good photograph, but I do think it paints the picture. After this shot, I decided it was time to start shooting in RAW and learning to process - we shall see!

So. what was wrong with this picture? What do you expect to gain from shooting Raw that you can't get from USING your eye, camera's science and technology and your ability? Shooting Raw does not take the place of reading, no studying your manual. But then who am I to preach?

I got a tip today...try to pan a little ahead of the subject and allow it to fly into the frame. This fellow made some good shots so I tried it....I was at a remote control event today....it seemed to be a valid point so I tried. Things went a little better after that. You loose the blur from where the plane is in constant motion. Nice shot. We have night flying with lights on the planes, but nothing like this.

Yes, I take your point, I just didn't cope with the situation. Still, I am liking Raw, so maybe my better pictures will improve a bit?
