I would contact the manufacturer to send you one (though you probably have to pay for it).

It appears to me that you have to have the Canon Utility disc and connect your camera to your computer for this to work. For a very small outlay you can purchase an interval timer that works without dragging your computer around with you.

I know this is the British site but I'm sure you can pick one up in the states quite easily.

I use one (for a Nikon) they are cheap, reliable and easy to use.

I don't think its on the CD - I bought my 450d 2nd hand and the shop downloaded the 550 cd for me as the 450's cd was unavailable. Just checked the down loaded version and can't find any timer in eos utility. Could be my inexperience of not using tethered. However, I have just loaded the camera on and can merely get a "test" shot. Don't seem to be able to change shooting frequency or a time interval mode. Hope someone comes up with a solution.

I was reading all about iton the Canon Web site, its a Canon EO Utilty disc which is for several different eos cameras and allows amongst other things, tethering and time lapse though the minimum interval is stated at 5 seconds. The timer mentioned in my above post allows an interval of one second.

I have had several of these, and for the price, they are very good. The directions leave something to be desired, though. I've written my own directions so I can understand them.
