Hunkered down and waiting for sun to rise higher.
Took this with sig 150-500 at 500 resting on hood of car. This lens is very hard to get good hand held shots.

Shooting over the hood of a car can sometimes be problematic. If the engine is hot, you can have heat wave distortion of the image. Also, don't shoot with the engine running as the vibrations will affect the shot.
You struggled with this shot as the background is quite busy. Less depth of field may have helped as would shooting from a lower perspective. Sometimes that is not possible but should always be considered.
