In the days before I purchased my Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens, and even before I purchased a set of extension tubes, I tried to emulate a macro shot using a Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6L. I am well aware that close-ups are not macro shots, per sé, but Hey! these "Swarovski-like crystals" were just begging to be captured for posterity, so I did the best I could with the equipment at hand.
Canon 7D, with Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS, USM lens, f4.5 (Aperture Priority), 1/160 sec. at ISO 200
