Anybody upgrade from Lightroom 4 to Lightroom 5? If so, is it worth it? I'm retired now so can't spend money foolishly. :)

I upgraded from Lightroom 3.2 and thought it was well worth it.

There doesn't seem to be a huge difference between LR 4 and 5. Not like there was from 3 to 4 which was a major process version upgrade. Check out this site that explains the differences between LR 4 and 5 and see if it makes sense for you:

Try the 30day Trial. The Radial Tool and Visualize Spots are pretty damned amazing features.
Musket pointed out a couple of the new features that may be of interest and actually make the upgrade a no-brainier for you especially after you review birdpix's suggested video. I am currently using LR4 and Elements 11 and will wait for LR6 and Elements 12 or 13.
Thanks to all for the feedback. I will watch the video. Have a terrific weekend.

First you should go to the adobe website and see what additional features are available in Lightroom 5.2 that you lack in Lightroom 4.4. Only you can determine if those features are important to you. That being said the changes between LR4 and LR5 seem to be far fewer than when upgrading from LR3 to LR4. The other thing you should be aware of (assuming you are using Windows) is that Lightroom 5 will only work on a Windows 7 or Windows 8 machine. It will not install on a Windows XP or Windows Vista environment.

The majority of what you saw in your upgrade was already in Lightroom 4.

I upgraded and, for the minimal price (less than $100.00), it was worth it.

In my opinion, the radial filter and updated spot removal tool alone are worth the upgrade.
Thanks for the opinions, all. My computer, "The Monolith," somehow crashed its Vista OS which had been just fine for some years, so I upgraded to 7, which also will allow me to move to LR 5 if I so desire. Might just do that.....
