One of his strengths is composition. An important element of composition is to find and physically move to the best vantage point. Unfortunately, zoom lenses have made many of today's photographers a bit lazy in that respect - why move when one can simply zoom. But choosing a different vantage point (sometimes to a less easily accessible vantage point) can make a world of a difference, especially in landscape photography.
