I clicked on the link at the top of the page for Photoshop Elements Magazine and got two free digital issues along with a bunch of online tutorials. Here is the URL in case it gets taken down before you see it.
http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/elementsuser-starter-kit-1/One magazines main subject is on saving old photos by scanning, the other is repairing old photos. Enjoy! UHH may get some sort of credit if we participate but I might be wrong. It is well worth a look.

Thanks for that. I had a subscription, but I let it lapse. Maybe I'll renew.

It is quite reasonable, $59 with 3 freebies even if you are renewing. I also subscribed about 7 years ago but the $99 at that time was way too much to keep up. Even if you don't renew, the free issues are good to have.
I downloaded the free issues a few days ago and particularly like the "Banish Boring Skies" article. Really helpful when I open an article and Elements in side by side windows and can read along as I try the techniques.
p.s. Two more reasons to subscribe:
"Money-back guarantee: If youre not happy with any purchase from Photoshop Elements Techniques, well refund your money. Its that easy."
They're headquartered in lovely Portland, Oregon, so they gotta be good people. :-D
