This my first attempt at a senior photo shoot. Please be kind. The last time I posted a picture some people were rude and mean. I am hoping for constructive criticism, not insults.

This was taken in my studio then placed in front of a digital background.

This is the one she chose for her yearbook picture. Also a digital background.

I like these. Very well done. Nicely lighted, good poses. In the first, you might consider a tighter crop, as there's a lot of clutter by her feet that distracts. Overall, good job, and I hope she was happy with these. Pretty girl.

I agree with Treepusher. Those clunky shoes look out of place but a nice crop from right behind her right arm is a great shot. I agree she should be really happy with these.

Not sure why but the colors look murky on this posting. They look much better on my prints. Thanks for your positive comments. Yes she loved her pictures, she is so pretty I couldn't take a bad pic of her if I tried.

I agree about those clunky shoes, probably would have been better barefoot.

I think you did a beautiful job the only thing I find distracting about the first one is the white blanket. I would have liked to seen her just in the grass (would have to be her last pose I suppose) or on a darker, earth toned blanket or a darker buffalo plaid but overall...well done!

the white blanket and blouse mess the skin tones up... give her a greenish cast. photos with color clothing are great!

To get the proper colors, etc, you will have to either resize before posting to no more than 600pixels wide, or click the "store original" box so we can download to see the true quality. This is because of the way UHH compresses to make the thumbnail.

BTW I think these are VERY nice portraits!! #1 has a somewhat distracting background, but otherwise I really like all of them!!

You did good, the colors seem way off but I'm at work, so I think it is my monitor.

Here are my thoughts:

1) The white blanket/sheet is way distracting, it's not natural...I say this because I don't know of anyone who would put a white blanket on grass - grass stains. Darker blankets yes, but not white.
2) I like the pose, her right elbow is cut off...but then again I'm not sure if that is a big deal.
3) I like...good pose
4) not my favorite...but that is just me...everything looks good in technic ways.
5)Great shot, maybe have her shoulders turned or angled - but then again if it is for the yearbook they may have a criteria of headon shots
6) (the one posted later) I like the concept, the stick is distracting. Not sure if she could have straighten her back a bit more and turned just her shoulders more towards you for a better look.

You did a good job....GP

I agree with Pasta Gal about the white blanket. Also the pose with the gazebo I would like to see her face into the picture. Same pose with her on the right and gazebo on the left. David Thanks for posting, Hair Net 1948.

No insults planned here. Beautiful girl. Well lit. However I do feel the shots are a bit over processed... they don't look natural.

Framing: One is just fine, two is okay but she could have been centered more in the frame - sorry, framing is a big deal to me.
Trust me I don't always get it right either but that's another story. Three is very nice and I love the background... still a little over processed for my taste.

Four: Given that she is facing frame left, in my opinion, it appears to me that she was an after thought in a gazibo shot.
I think she should have faced into the frame rather than out of it... just a standard thing.

Five: Nice but again a little off frame. Also in five she could have been doing something, fingers in her hair, something to give it life and motion.

Not a bad set by any means, I'm just picky.
