Yes but it's Latin Name is White-Lined Sphinx Moth (Hyles lineata):

That's what iwas told about a week ago shooting up near Estes Park , I think yours turned out better

Thanks for the quick reply and link. I have to say this was fun. I thought toddlers and humming birds could move. WOW this little creature can move.

I think this what I've always called a hawk moth. They can fool you when you're looking for humming birds.

They are very quick. And not having a lick of experience with them, I think they are a little bigger than hummingbirds. Just a one time opinion. Their flight patterns are different than hummingbirds. Didn't seem to hover as much.
