Below is a portrait I took at Occupy San Francisco on Dec. 4. It is my best portrait so far. I can't decide whether I like color or black and white best. I like them both. Does anyone have a preference/opinion?

It's a little too washed out for my tastes, but then again, many people think I'm a total loss..

I'd say it way over exposed. I didn't see any color one to compare it to, but I'd guess that would be over exposed too...

Maybe you meant for the B&W to be that way.. I like it, but I'm still learning. So...

The exposure is fine-It's done as a high key photograph. You may not like the interpretation? Here's the original unworked-on photograph to compare.

I like the black and white shot best. I guess I think it just makes a more powerful statement... no red lips or anything else to detract from the face itself. Nice work!

Hi Deb.... Doesn't matter what I like, just as long as it's what you like....;0) That's the important thing. We all have different tastes. Of the two, I like the color one best. I think it has a more pleasing look to it.

I think you over cooked it a bit loosing to much info on the top left side of photo and his face is to smooth looking at the original, but I do like the B/W much better

I give the b&w the thumbs up. Nice touch, the top left of the photo is a little washed out, correct it and blow it up, put it on this guys wall.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll see if I like it with a little more detail on the top left. General preference seems to lean toward bw.

PhotoDeb, I played with your portrait. I liked your over exposed as is. I just messed with it for fun.
