Hello Everyone,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Al and I currently reside in the Daytona Beach area of Florida. I am an old school photographer with a taste for new technology. I started photography at the age of 16 and have to say, it is a never ending learning experience. I look forward to posting some of my photos and hearing some opinions from anyone. Thank you for having me....

Welcome, I'll be down in your area on Wednesday. Can't wait to get my camera out and take some beach shots. Great place to live and visit. UH is a great site. Use the power wisely.
Welcome Al.
Lots of photo ops in your area. I was just there again in August (my dad is in Ormond Beach)
Thank You. Great OPs in Ormond Beach. Like the 2000 year old live oak tree. I hope you get some great photos while you are here!
I actually live in Ormond Beach near the Daytona Beach line. People know Daytona, so I use that for a reference point.

I didn't know they had many old schools near Daytona Beach. Where do you find them?...
Good one Jim. I hope you don't mind if I use that one......
Welcome Stone Angel. Love Florida and the gulf especially. I was stationed aboard a US Destroyer at Mayport FL below Jax many years ago. I too am an old school photographer that loves digital and I have no plans to go back to film! Enjoy it here!!
Welcome. I've never been to Daytona, but I'm sure that it's warmer than Vermont. Post lots of pics..convince me to visit.

In Alabama, the Tuscaloosa. Hooray for Captain Spaulding.
Hi Al and All,
I'm new to the forum and also to Florida. I'm very near to you Al, I moved to New Smyrna Beach from Kentucky in August. I left behind a lot of sad memories and I am very happy with my new life and new beginnings here in the sunshine state. Cheers to you and everyone!

Edit--I understand your reasons for saying Daytona instead of Ormand, but personally, even though NSB is geographically quite close to Daytona, I like to think that it is about as far from there in just about every other way possible, and I like it like that :) I've been coming here since I was a pre-teen and even though I've just re-located permanently, I am proud to call NSB home. Just my opinion--you should do the same with Ormand! It's a great little place! :)
Welcome - I have been visiting Ormond since 1962 as a young teen. My has it changed over the years. Stayed with family on the north edge just off the 4 lane. What a wonderful place for a photographer.
