I believe CaptainC has tried one.
I looked into it for transferring images to a laptop for printing on the fly.
Tried the EyeFi card and had trouble with cell phone interference at an event.
The contact at CamRanger said I may have the same interference issue with their product, but I may give it a shot next month anyway. Smaller venue, fewer people in the room. My back-up is a 15' tether cord. I know that will work.

Follow-up.
Got one to use at an event a couple of weeks ago.
Works great!!!! Easier set up than an EyeFi card and works tons better. Fast transfer! I just got it to transfer files for printing on the fly. It controls the camera as well- I played with that too. No interference issues with cell phones in the vicinity. Lost signal once, but that was because the photographer left the room... duh!
Got the Nikon WT-4A as a back up, but considering it costs 2x the CamRanger and seems a lot more complicated to install, it may be going back.
