Hi y'all! I want to learn all I can about photography, just for personal use, but I don't know what's best camera wise, mp # wise, etc. The 2 cameras I keep looking at are the Canon Rebel T3i and the Nikon D3200. Any help or advice would be most appreciated.

Welcome to the Hog CarolinaCat. You can't go wrong with either. Both cameras are good. Personally I am partial to Nikon. Good luck with your decision. ;)

Hi and welcome, I suggest you hold each one, and see if either fits your hand better? Can you try with a longer lens, that might make a difference to how it feels to hold? Price wise, any differences there? Waiting to see your choice and some pics. Lots of great people here with great suggestions, I'm sure you will get lots of help. Cheers, Nancy

Welcome to the forum, Nikon or Canon , it's the old Ford and Chevy battle. Both cameras will do a fantastic job, with fantastic support and accessories .
Check them both out and choose the one you can afford or like, have fun.

CarolinaCat - given you're willing to look at an older model (ref T3i), I'll mention the D3100 as a bargin now that the D3200 is out. Look around and you can get two lenses with this model for the same price as they were selling for 1 kit lens back in Feb2013 when I grabbed a copy for a coming HS grad gift. I remain Canon myself, but Nikon is a lower cost of entry ....

I'm sure you've already done your homework - searching Google for comparisons. Here is just one of many:
http://snapsort.com/compare/Canon-T3i-vs-Nikon_D3100
Although they say no image stabilization - that is built in to most Canon lenses (and likely Nikon as well).
The T3i supports Auto-bracketing, the D3100 does not. This is important if you want to dabble in HDR.
I've shot Canons for 12 years - still can't get used to the wheels rotating 'backward' from what would be intuitive - although {on the 7D} you can change this setting internally.
In the end though - handle them both - maybe rent each for a day.
Each has their pluses and minuses - but both are great for starters.
