Your cat and its crew have made a very positive impression around the Bay Area. Well done. Winning the L.V. Cup and the right to challenge the U. S. looked almost too easy. Now the real work begins. I think the U. S. defender will need to sail at the highest level to keep the cup on this side of the Pacific. These 72s may be overly complex technologically but they are a wonderful sight to see on our bay. And they are fast, fast, fast! These shots were taken from Crissy Field. The boats were ¾ of a mile away, at their closest point, from my set up. The weather was overcast with a marine layer. Im looking forward to next week! Best of luck to all participants.

Hey rockdog, thanks for posting. I know nothing about these things but they sure look hi-tech & fast. Kiwis are very well known for punching well above their weight in so many sports... doesn't surprise me they're going well here as well. Great photos rockdog.... you've done a sterling job against the odds....distance, haze etc. No. two with the birds flying across is terrific. Again - thanks.
Good set. The last one really captures the action beautifully.

Thank you zneb240. I live in the east bay hills and I can see them from my window 10 miles away. Thier size puts them on the scale of commercial traffic (tankers and container ships) but it is their speed that makes them so visible. I appreciate your comments. Sept. will be fun.
Tremendous images! I like them a lot...Thanks for sharing them with us.

Great shots Rockdog. Thanks for putting them up. Have watched all the races on TV here in NZ. Not a big fan of these catamarans for AC racing, but they certainly are thrilling to watch.
Getting these from 3/4 of a mile away must have been a challenge.
Once again, you captured some great action.
Cheers
