I took this pic of my grandson and it has a very noticable shadow. I printed it to canvas and it looks nice to me. My question is, should shadows be removed or are they ok?
I don't shoot portraits, but I think it's one mighty adorable photo!!

The look on his face is priceless.
Looking at the shadow, is it safe to think that you used an on-board flash to take this photo?
You might try using a diffuser, standing further away from the subject, even using no flash at all.
I believe that if you tried to remove the shadow, you'd taking on a task that will not only take many hours of your time, but meets with limited success.

I did use the flash
Lighing was very poor in the room and he was moving around rather quick. I was trying to get baby action shots.
I didn't think of the diffuser. I'll remember that. Thanks
In my humble opinion I usually don't like shadows but in this photo they enhance the subject. I wouldn't touch a thing and the only decision to make is where to hang it.

Shadows come from the light source. If it was flash, it was too high and probably on the camera.
with the background as it is, the shadows are fine. great photo!

EstherP is right, removing the shadows would be time-consuming, and very possibly of limited success. But it's a cute picture, so enjoy it.
