My name is Charlie and I am currently in central Tx. I have just bought A Nikon D3100 camera and have been enjoying it so far. l'm looking forward to learning to use it better.

Thanks for the welcome. It's a strange thing I have been a mechanical person all my life. I have been the guy machanical engeneers (sp) oftin come to. Always been able ti fix almost anything, But this Nikon is kicking my ###. It has really made me feel like a DA. With ya'lls help I'll get it down. Thanks to you all.

Hi Charlie, I'm new like you with a D3100 :) so far I really have enjoyed the camera, it was a huge upgrade from what I had.

CharlieA, welcome to the hog. As you progress here, there are many people with Nikon equipment who can give you the finer points of your camera and how to adjust it. So, ask questions. You will get many answers. And, hopefully post some of your work, so we can see what you enjoy shooting.

Hi Charlie & welcome! I started with a D-3100 and it is a wonderful camera. You will get amazing shots with it. Please post images here as this is a great way to learn from others. All of my posted images with the exception of a recent post called "Carnival" were done with a D3100.
