Only $11,000.00 an hour to fly one of those things and we paid for one to fly a dog. Okay you liberals rationalize this one.

Yes, kind of ridiculous. $11,000 dollars an hour for a helicopter to fly a dog! What is really bad is the more than 11 trillion dollars Republican Presidents have spent in foreign wars and accompaniments (home land security following every phone call and website of our own citizens) which has effectively left us bankrupt for our childrens future and their children. And dependent on China to invest in paying our debt. Suppose an ordinary human like you or me ran up a million on a credit and had to depend on someone overseas to pay the monthly charges. I think there is a good quote here, something about " And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye>

So according to what you posted we're effectively bankrupt and you want to change the subject instead of addressing the issue at hand which is $11,000.00 PER HOUR to fly a dog on vacation, so typical.

A truly extravagant waste of money; if it were true.
Which it is not.
A) The dog wasn't flown on an Ospry.
B) The dog was flown on a small jet with staff members who had to go there anyway because Air Force One couldn't land on the runway which is way too short.
C) Get a life!

I must say Frank that does make me feel better. I guess I should have checked the story out before I posted my comment.

frank better re-read.. Bo, the president's Portuguese Water Dog, arrived separately on one of two MV-22 Ospreys, a hybrid aircraft which takes off like a helicopter but flies like a plane. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/10236302/First-dog-Bo-is-airlifted-to-Obama-holiday-home.html

uh when the last Republican President was in office the debt was around 8 trillion. Had Bush not done the initial bailout right before he left office the debt was around 2 trillion. Obama garbage has had it over 16 trillion in about 2 .5 years. if you want to spout facts then give us correct ones.

Well, though not a liberal, but an independent who has voted both right and left, I find the uproar over this canine caper ludicrous. The Fox toadies out there will continue to harp over Obama's "excessive" vacations and the expenses resulting. A Google search will reveal that Obama took 85 days of vacation during his full first term, while his predecessor, George W. Bush took a total of 1020 days vacation during his two terms.

GWB holds the record for the largest number of vacation for any prexy in
office. Think of it this way: allowing 130 days for weekends, holidays and vacation day per year, that leaves 235 "working" days. Then GWB took the equivalent of FOUR YEARS of vacation time while in office! Care to attach a price tag to that?

At least any president is really on duty call during his vacation, but can we say the same for our current do-nothing House of Representatives? If you don't already know how little time they spend in their chamber legislating, then check Google again and be surprised. And what can they show accomplishments this session?

Eleven grand for the pooch pales in comparison!
