This was my first attempt at trying to catch a meteor. The photo is right out of the camera no pp. If anyone wants to take a crack at improving on this be my guest. The second photo I did try some editing on it. You will probably have to download both of them to see the meteor. The first photo does have one but very short. The second one has an airplane going across the bottom portion of the photo and the meteor is going the length of it.

It was 52 seconds @ ISO 800, F4-Tamron 10-24 set at 10. Wanted to catch as much sky as I possibly could.

Been meaning to get up VERY early and shoot the Perseid. No luck yet. It would be better if they staged these meteor showers mid-afternoon.

Yes, I can go up to 6400. I'm not sure how to get rid of the noise. I have the noise reduction turned off on the camera so it doesn't take as long to process the image. I have noise reduction in aperture but I can't see much of a difference.

zoom in at 100% first, then apply noise reduction.

Low ISO - Low aperture = crisp shots. Shutter speed = perfect shots.

looks pretty good, never tried this before and that is why I wanted to try and stay around the 800 ISO. I'll try again tonight.

Be sure to turn off image stabilization when mounted on a tripod.
