This is first group I have joined . I have been in & out of photography since I was 18. Started with a Pentax SP 1000 and still have it. Canon XSi is my first DSLR. Still trying to figure out all the menu buttons. I shoot almost every day and never been at a loss for something to photograph. My photography is not aimed to please anyone. I love wild life ,reflections and creating illusions.

Welcome to the forum. I shot a Pentax SP1000 for so long, I wore the shutter out on it.Then went to the K-1000, same thing. Anyway, enough ramblin, glad your here. Lots of good advice and knowledge to go around.

I hope to learn to improve technique. Getting tack sharp is my biggest problem. It seems like it is almost there , but not quite if you know what I mean. Sometimes it is right on and other times the whole day is a loss.

Do you have a tripod? I remember in the beginning for me, if I took my tripod on our little outings, my photos were a lot sharper, better exposed, etc. It seems when you set it up on a tripod, you tend to do everything more deliberate, checking everything. Good luck, post some photos, have fun.

I have used tripod a few times and use a monopod with head on uneven terrain. Still I suspect in my eagerness to get some shots I must move the camera. Thanks for the tip. I find it hard to use tripod with flying birds and have tried panning for shots. Here is a shot of Chickadee. Again this shot is not as sharp as I would prefer. I used Canon 55mm-250mm IS lens
