I do love your street photography, do I prefer mono, yes, it has that quality about it.

Perfect dof, contrast and sharpness but more important is the expression.

If I were a competition judge I would say that the highlights are distracting but then I am not a fool and know that you can do nothing about the location like this so unless you photoshop it big deal

Thanks JR1, the mono version is the one for me too. I tagged the colour version on as an afterthought, hopefully to demonstrate how much more a mono image can convey compared to colour.

The BW is just perfect. That expression says it all. Great shot, Graham.

Love the photo and love the town. I had the good fortune of working there for a short period of time.

Thanks Jim, I have the good fortune of having lived in or close by Cambridge for all of my not inconsiderable number of years. May I ask where you worked?

Great black-and-white. It looks like he was thinking of taking a shot at you as well. Did you exchange photos? :)

Addition:
Judging from the size of the hands compared to the head's size, it looks like you were using a telephoto, so my question above is invalid.

Each image has its own appeal! The B&W has more of a photo-journalist or 'vintage' feel. The color image shows more of the atmosphere as it was.

I see the subject evidently likes one of the older versions of my current Canon!! He knows a good product!

Thanks and well spotted, unusually I was using a 300mm :-)

This is so clear. Like I'm standing there. Hope someday to be 1/3 this good. Beautiful, I love both of the shots

I like color in all my photos, except in special circumstances. In this color seems to take away the special effect that is brought out so well in mono.

Well Done
