May I suggest that as most humans read left to right the owl is looking in to a small space, "mirror" the image and crop half from behind the head.

Great shot showing beautifully the low light setting. "Most" people want the image looking 'into' the blank area, but in this case I believe that the 'blank' or 'negative space' on the right adds to this scene!
